The Company is seeking a VP of Engineering to be the most senior technical leader in the business, with a focus on owning the end-to-end engineering output. This role is pivotal in scaling the engineering team, setting architectural standards, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and compliant financial technology products. The successful candidate will be responsible for team and hiring, architecture, delivery, regulation and security, platform and data, and external relationships. A hands-on approach is essential, as the VP of Engineering will be expected to be deeply involved in solving technical problems and raising the bar on engineering quality. The role also involves representing engineering to the board, investors, and regulators, and requires a leader who can explain technical complexity clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Applicants for the VP of Engineering position at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Deep experience in building financial technology, particularly in the areas of payments, lending, cards, or core banking, is a must. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of solving hard technical problems, hiring, and retaining excellent engineers, and be able to demonstrate the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience. A degree in a relevant field is required, with a strong preference for those with deep familiarity with the global fintech or Southeast Asia tech ecosystem, experience in a high-growth environment, and hands-on experience with Azure architecture. Familiarity with card and payments infrastructure and experience within a regulated entity or navigating a licensing process are also highly valued.
