Head of Reactor Support Equipment Engineering
About the Role
Greater Los Angeles, CA Area
The Company is seeking a Head of Reactor Support Equipment Engineering to lead the development of the systems that ensure the safe and efficient operation of a nuclear reactor. This founding role is pivotal in designing and implementing the infrastructure for reactor pool design, fluid management, and radioactive waste handling. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the conceptual design, writing design requirements, and optimizing the system through first-principles analysis. This is a hands-on leadership position, where the Head of Reactor Support Equipment Engineering will also be involved in recruiting and leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers, and partnering with production and site deployment to ensure the designed systems can be built and operated at scale. Applicants for this role should have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline, with a strong background in mechanical hardware design, particularly in fluid or thermal-hydraulic systems. While direct experience in nuclear or reactor support equipment is not required, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of extreme ownership over complex hardware or infrastructure systems, and the ability to make design decisions and lead a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment. The role demands a leader who is self-motivated, organized, and capable of moving at a pace that is in line with the company's mission to revolutionize the nuclear industry.
